It is a national scientific and technical association for the cereals, oils, fats and feed producing industry. It has the approvement of the Chinese government. CCOA is member of CAST (China Association for Science and Technology) and has close relations with the Ministry of Internal Trade, which controls most of the cereals, oils and fats and the feed industry in China. The Chinese cereal and oil and baking industry produces more than 34 % of the total production value of the whole food industry. Cereal, oil and feed is one of the most important sectors in the Chinese food industry. |

Beijing food Research Institute founded in 1963, is a large, multidisciplinary, fully reinforced and most influential scientific research institution of its kind in China and the first one that carried out reform based on the principle of market economy. Its success in providing both foreign and domestic investors with project consulting service has earned it high reputation.Well-known enterprises using BFRI's know-how In 1989 the know-how of Instant Enriched Soymilk Powder was transferred to Xuzhou W Food & Beverage Co. Ltd. Since 1997 BFRI has been supplying Xurisheng Group Co in Hebei Province with instant tea. In 1998 Beijing Tea Quality Supervision Station established under BFRI and Tea Leaves Beverage Quality Assaying Center of China Commerce Association were approved by the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and started to render assaying services for the first batch of appointed tea stores, such as Zhangyiyuan Tea Compary etc.
Research Department of BFRI: It carried out many state-level key scientific and technological projects in the 7th, 8th, and 9th five-year-plan periods, all of which have been put into practice in the food industry. Now it is focusing its efforts on membrane separation technology, biofermentation technique, microencapsulation technique, supercritical liquid extraction technique, extrusion technique, etc. BFRI has obtained more than 400 achievements in scientific research, one of which won State Spark Prize, nine won State Science and Technology Progress Prize and thirty-one gained state patents.Tea Leaves Beverage Quality Assaying Center of China Commerce Association Beijing Tea Quality Supervision Station. Both are institutions approved by State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. The Centre is fully equipped with advanced testing equipment. China Food Publishing Co., Ltd.: China Food was published its first issue in 1972. It has been the China's first food magazine, welcomed by the general public. Food Science was published its first issue in 1980, In 1982 Chemical Abstract, the authoritative periodical in USA, started to carry abstracts derived from Food Science. In 1992, 1996 and 2000 it was successively chosen as one of the core periodicals for the food industry by the China State Commission of Science and Technology. Food Abstract is the sole publication of its kind in China, covering a wide range of subjects on food research, production and teaching. Its subscribers include technical personnel, policy-makers and college students. |

Jiangnan University (formerly:Southern Yangtze University (SYTU)) is located in Wuxi, one of the
