Free EU funded Connect4Action workshop on "Better Communication during the Food Innovation Process"

As partner of the EU funded project Connect4Action, ICC would like to draw your attention to a free workshop for young scientists and PhD students.

We are glad to announce our upcoming intensive academic training on Better Communication during the Food Innovation Process, funded under the European project Connect4Action (C4A, www.connect4action.eu), that will be held in Brussels (Belgium) on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October 2014, in the Sofitel Hotel.

This short training course is oriented towards young academics, in particular PhD students, from any EU country and will be delivered by a multidisciplinary group of lecturers from a range of international institutions and companies (University of Wageningen, University of Newcastle, University of Bologna, MAPP-Aarhus Business School, EFFoST, TNO, EUFIC).

A selected and small group of participants (15 approximately) will be introduced to the analysis of the key challenges and requirements for successful communication during the food innovation process, focusing on both external and internal communication. The individual lectures are enriched by results obtained within the C4A project. We will present recommendations for improving communication, as well as other tools that are being designed within the C4A project in order to improve communication among the key actors involved in the food innovation process. We will provide participants with on-line background material before the pilot.

Students will be required to actively participate and provide feedback towards improving possible future editions of the course.

Please let us know as soon as possible, and no later than 28 September 2014, whether you would like to be considered for this training. Places are limited, and the selection will be based on the following criteria:

  1. A balanced proportion of students coming from different backgrounds (food science, social science)
  2. First-come-first-served basis

To request your place, please send an email to infoatconnect4action [dot] eu, with your CV attached, and explicitly indicating your PhD course, your institution, the name of your tutor, your PhD research, and your motivation to attend such a training. Should you require accommodation please indicate this clearly in your e-mail. There is the possibility to be reimbursed for accommodation and travel expenses.
